Jennifer Lopez

Lopez was born and raised in the Bronx, New York to Puerto Rican parents Guadalupe Rodríguez, a kindergarten teacher, and David Lopez, a computer specialist.[4] She has two siblings, Lynda and Leslie. Lopez spent her entire academic career in Catholic schools. She financed singing and dancing lessons for herself from the age of nineteen. After leaving a one-semester career at Baruch College, Lopez divided her time between working in a legal office, dance classes, and dance performances in Manhattan clubs at night. After months of auditioning for dance roles, Lopez was selected as a dancer for various rap artists' music videos, a 1990 episode of Yo! MTV Raps, and on the American Music Awards as a backup dancer for the New Kids on the Block and their performance of their song "Games" in 1991. After being rejected twice, Lopez gained her first regular high-profile job as a "Fly Girl" dancer on the television comedy program In Living Color in 1990. Soon after, Lopez became a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and made an appearance in her 1993 video "That's the Way Love Goes".

Lopez has appeared on the short-lived television programs South Central, Second Chances, and Hotel Malibu, and the made-for-television film Nurses on the Line: The Crash of Flight 7. Lopez broke into the big screen in the 1995 drama My Family and then appeared opposite Wesley Snipes in the action film Money Train. Lopez has played roles in Francis Ford Coppola's 1996 comedy Jack starring Robin Williams, and the 1997 thriller Blood and Wine with Jack Nicholson. Lopez played the lead role in the 1997 film Selena for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for "Best Actress - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy" in 1998. She became the first Latin actress to get paid $1 million or more for a film role.[5] Some of her other critically-acclaimed films include Out of Sight, The Cell, and An Unfinished Life. Lopez's performances were less well-received in the financially successful films The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan, Monster-in-Law, and Shall We Dance?

Lopez has finished shooting two new independent films: Bordertown and El Cantante. El Cantante was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival where it got positive reviews. Bordertown was shown at the Brussels Film Festival. Both films were produced by Lopez and her production company, New Yorican Productions.

In April 2004, Lopez guest starred in the sixth season finale of Will & Grace, playing herself. This was the highest-rated episode of the series since Elton John's appearance in 2002, and Lopez appeared again in the season seven's opening episode. In May 2006, MTV gave the greenlight on her executively-produced reality show, DanceLife. The show followed the lives of six aspiring dancers as their struggle to make it in the competitive world of professional dance. Lopez, who took an active role in selecting the show's participants, made cameo appearances over the course of the season and the show's eight-episode run which began on January 15, 2007.

Lopez made an appearance as a mentor on American Idol on April 10, 2007.

Despite not having a film that grossed over $100 million domestically, Lopez is one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood and the highest-paid Latin actress in Hollywood history. Lopez appeared in the 2007 Guinness World Records as the most powerful actress. She was on The Hollywood Reporter's list of the top ten actress salaries in 2002, 2003, and 2004.[7] She received $15,000,000 for her role in Monster-in-Law. Her top-grossing film domestically is Maid in Manhattan which grossed $94,011,225. Meanwhile, her most successful film internationally is Shall We Dance? Which grossed $112,238,000 at the international box office. Domestically, Shall We Dance? Grossed $57,890,460 and a total of $170,128,460 worldwide.

Lopez has sold over fifty million records worldwide.[8] Lopez made the 2007 Forbes magazine's list of The 20 Richest Women In Entertainment and ranked ninth. Her wealth is estimated to be $110 million.

On the 6 (1999)

Lopez's debut album On the 6, a reference to the 6 subway line she used to take growing up in Castle Hill, was released on June 1, 1999, and reached the top ten of the Billboard 200. The album featured the multi-week Billboard Hot 100 number-one lead single, "If You Had My Love", as well as the top ten hit "Waiting for Tonight". It contained the Spanish language, Latin-flavored duet "No Me Ames" with Marc Anthony. Though "No Me Ames" never had a commercial release, it reached number one on the U.S. Hot Latin Tracks. Despite this, the music video for "No Me Ames" received moderate airplay on the music channels VH1 (United States) and The Box (United Kingdom). On the 6 featured guest artists such as Big Pun and Fat Joe on the track "Feelin' So Good", which failed to make the top fifty of the Billboard Hot 100. "Let's Get Loud", the final single, earned Lopez a Grammy Award nomination in the "Best Dance Recording" category in 2001 Grammy Awards.[11] "Waiting for Tonight" was nominated for the same category the previous year.[12] "No Me Ames" received two nominations at the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards — "Best Pop album by a Duo or Group with Vocal" and "Best Music Video". The album has sold 7 million copies to date.

J. Lo (2001)

Lopez's second album, J. Lo, was released on January 23, 2001 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. When her film The Wedding Planner achieved number one shortly after, Lopez become the first actress-singer to have a film and an album at number one in the same week.[13] The lead single, "Love Don't Cost a Thing", was her first number-one single in the United Kingdom and took her into the top five on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. She followed it up with "Play" which gave her another top twenty hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number three in the UK. Her next two singles were "I'm Real" and "Ain't It Funny" which were quickly rising up the charts. To capitalize on this, Lopez asked The Inc. Records (then known as Murder Inc.) to remix both songs, which featured rap artists Ja Rule (on both) and Caddillac Tah (on the "Ain't It Funny" remix). Both remixes reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks. She re-released J. Lo on her thirty-second birthday with the remix of "I'm Real" as a bonus track.The album has sold 13 million copies to date.

J to tha L-O!: The Remixes (2002)

Following the success of the re-release of J. Lo, Lopez decided to devote an entire album to the remixing effort, releasing J to tha L-O!: The Remixes, on February 5, 2002. This album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, becoming the first remix album in history to debut at the top on the chart.[14] Featured artists on J to tha L-O!: The Remixes included P. Diddy, Fat Joe, and Nas, and the album included rare dance and hip hop remixes of past singles. It is the third all-time biggest-selling remix album in the world, after Michael Jackson's Blood on the Dance Floor: History in the Mix (1997) and Madonna's You Can Dance (1987). The album has sold 3 million copies.

This Is Me... Then (2002)

On November 26, 2002, Lopez released her third studio album, This Is Me... Then, which reached number two on the Billboard 200 and spawned four singles: "Jenny from the Block" (featuring Jadakiss and Styles P), which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100; "All I Have" (featuring LL Cool J), which spent multiple weeks at number one; "I'm Glad"; and "Baby I Love U!". The album included a cover of Carly Simon's 1978 "You Belong to Me". It performed well on the charts, selling over three million copies in the United States alone and 6 million world wide.

The video for "I'm Glad" recreated scenes from the 1983 film Flashdance, leading to a lawsuit over copyright infringement. [15][16]

Rebirth (2005)

After a year away from the music scene, Lopez released her fourth studio album, Rebirth, on March 1, 2005. Although debuting and peaking at number two on the Billboard 200, the album quickly fell off the charts. It spawned the hit "Get Right", which reached the top fifteen in the U.S. and became her second Platinum hit (after "If You Had My Love"). "Get Right" was also successful in the UK, becoming her second number-one single there. The second single, "Hold You Down", which featured Fat Joe, reached number sixty-four on the U.S. Hot 100; it peaked at number six in the UK and ascended to the top twenty in Australia. Another song, "Cherry Pie", was slated for a fall release, but the plans to make a video were cancelled as the album sales were definitely too weak and the promotion budget exceeded. It was released to radio stations in Spain. Rebirth was certified Platinum in the U.S. by the RIAA. Nevertheless, Lopez was featured on LL Cool J's single "Control Myself", which was released on February 1, 2006. It reached number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number two on the UK Singles Chart. It was Lopez's first U.S. top ten hit in three years and has sold 3 million copies world wide.

Como Ama Una Mujer (2007)

Lopez officially released her first full Spanish-language album, called Como Ama una Mujer, on March 27, 2007 in the U.S. and March 23, 2007 in Europe. Her husband, singer Marc Anthony, produced the album with Estefano, except for "Que Hiciste", which Anthony co-produced with Julio Reyes. The album peaked at number ten on the U.S. Billboard 200, number one on the U.S. Top Latin Albums (for four straight weeks), number one on the U.S. Latin Pop Albums (for seven straight weeks), and number one hundred and thirty-one in the UK. It set the record for largest sales for a Spanish debut album. The album did well in Europe peaking at number three on the albums chart, mainly due to the big success in countries like Switzerland, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Austria, and Portugal. The lead single, "Qué Hiciste" (Spanish for "What Did You Do"), was officially released to radio stations in January 2007. Since then, it has peaked at eighty-six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Hot Latin Songs and the Hot Dance Club Play. It also went top ten on the European chart. The video for the song was the first Spanish-language video to peak at number one on MTV's Total Request Live daily countdown. The second single has been confirmed to be "Me Haces Falta" as she announced on MTV News, but the release will be postponed so as not to clash with the El Cantante soundtrack.

Brave (2007)

Lopez is working on her sixth studio album, and fifth English studio album, in which she is working with producers Midi Mafia, Jonathan "J.R." Rotem, and Ryan Tedder. It has been confirmed to be released on October 9, 2007 and that Jonathan "J.R." Rotem is working on some tracks with writing partner Evan "Kidd" Bogart.[17] On March 27, 2007, Lopez appeared on MTV's Total Request Live and stated that the album will be out in September (but now has been confirmed by Yahoo! to be released in October) and Do It Well will be the first single. Lopez played one of the tracks from the new album in Las Vegas in late April. She stated she will finally be going on tour in late 2007 with a mix of her English and Spanish music.

MTV News reports that the album will see Lopez return to pop, R&B and hip-hop sounds. Speaking to MTV News about the album, Lopez said: "I'm really excited about it. The first single will be out this summer. And, you know, it's very different from my Spanish album. My Spanish album was kind of an opportunity to get away from what I do on my English [albums], to kind of express a different side of myself." She continued: "This [next] album is more of what people and my fans are used to - you know, just kind of dance, funk, R&B, hip-hop, all that stuff, all mixed up together to make some great pop music." A slow song called "Wrong When You're Gone" leaked onto the Internet in July. It was confirmed on July 30 to Yahoo UK, that Lopez's new album will be called, Brave and will be released October 8 in the UK and October 9 in the US.[18] Two singles will be released in the U.S.; "Hold It, Don't Drop It" will be allocated to pop stations while "Do It Well" will be sent to urban stations. Recently, a snippet of a song titled "Mile In These Shoes" was featured in a promo for season four of the ABC series Desperate Housewives.

She performed "Hold It, Don't Drop It" and "Do It Well" as a live set for the first time at a show she devised called, "Secret" in New York. She had an open audition for dancers to join her on stage. She also did a medley of her past hits.

Guitar great CARLOS SANTANA has added a secret collaboration with JENNIFER LOPEZ to his upcoming greatest hits album. The Smooth hitmaker and Lopez recorded This Boy's Fire with hip-hop star Baby Bash and the track turned out so good, Santana has added it to his Ultimate Santana album, which is due out in October (07).

Tour

Billboard Magazine reported, on July 24, 2007, that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will "co-headline" a worldwide tour starting in New Jersey on September 29.[19] Tickets went on sale August 10. The tour will be a mix of her current music, older tunes and Spanish music.

Lopez has stated that she would jump at the chance of joining the Spice Girls’ on stage during their 2007 reunion world tour. Lopez stated that even before she and her were friends, Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, 33, was always her favorite.[20]

Business

Lopez owns a clothing line, JLO by Jennifer Lopez, whose brand has been licensed for a term by Warnaco Group. Her line includes different types of clothing for young women, including jeans, T-shirts, coats, belts, purses, and lingerie. In 2005, she launched a new clothing line called Sweetface. She is planning to launch a jewelry line, as well as an accessory line that includes hats, gloves, and scarves.[21] Lopez participated in the Louis Vuitton Winter 2003 campaign. In the fall of 2007, Lopez will retire JLO by Jennifer Lopez and launch a new juniors' line called JustSweet.[22] The ad campaign will be featured in major magazines such as Glamour and Vogue. A runway show during New York Fashion Week is expected.

Lopez's frequent use of animal fur in her clothing lines and personal wardrobe has brought the scorn of people concerned with animal rights. At the Los Angeles premiere of Monster-in-Law, more than one hundred protesters from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) held a demonstration to highlight their concerns. Lopez told a radio DJ she was open to being educated on the topic.

On April 12, 2002, Lopez opened an elegant Cuban restaurant in the South Lake district of Pasadena, California named Madre's. A media sensation was creating when during a press shoot for the fancy restaurant; a mysterious man appeared out of the sidelines and gave Lopez a floral arrangement from Ben Affleck, even as then-husband Cris Judd stood next to her. Lopez was widely criticized for what appeared to be infidelity on her part.

Lopez has ventured in the perfume industry, with her debut "Glow by J.Lo" which broke numerous records in sales. In October 2003, Lopez introduced a perfume called "Still". Before launching another completely new fragrance, she revisited 2002 "Glow" by creating a limited edition spin-off entitled "Miami Glow by J.Lo", in homage to her adopted hometown of Miami. Around the same time, Lopez came up with a "Glow" body line, which featured different body lotions and bronzers. For the Christmas season of 2005, she launched another fragrance, "Live by Jennifer Lopez". Most recently, for 2006 Valentine's Day, "Miami Glow" was replaced by yet another "Glow" spinoff — "Love at First Glow by J.Lo". Her latest fragrance is called "Live Luxe" and was released in August 2006, with "Glow After Dark" following its release in January 2007. She is expected to release another perfume called "Desire" in 2007.

Lopez is a spokesperson for Lux shampoo in Japan, appearing in the product's television commercials.

Lopez has been recognized by People en Español magazine as both the cover subject for the "50 Most Beautiful" issue in 2006 and the "100 Most Influential Hispanics" issue in February 2007.

Personal life

Lopez's first marriage was to Cuban-born Ojani Noa[23] on February 22, 1997. Lopez met Noa while he worked as a waiter at a Miami restaurant. They divorced in January 1998. Lopez later employed Noa as the manager of her Pasadena restaurant Madre's in April 2002, but he was fired in October 2002. After Noa sued Lopez over the termination, they drew up a confidentiality agreement.[24] In April 2006, Lopez sued to prevent Noa from publishing a book containing personal details about their short marriage, contending it violated the confidentiality agreement.[25]

In August 2007, a court-appointed arbitrator issued a permanent injunction forbidding Ojani Noa from "criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging" Jennifer Lopez. She was awarded $545,000 in compensatory damages, which included nearly $300,000 in legal fees and almost $48,000 in arbitration costs. Noa was also ordered to hand over all copies of materials related to the book to Lopez or her attorney.[10]

She then had a two-and-a-half-year relationship with Sean Combs. On December 27, 1999, Lopez and Combs were at Club New York, a midtown Manhattan nightclub, when gunfire erupted between Combs' entourage and another group. Lopez and Combs were being driven away from the scene when they were chased and stopped by the police.[26] A stolen gun was found in the front seat of their vehicle.[27] Lopez was charged with felony gun possession, but the charges were dropped,[28] as she was riding in the back seat at the time.[29] Lopez terminated her involvement with Combs shortly thereafter, and Combs reconciled with Kim Porter, mother of his three children.

Her second marriage was to her former backup dancer, Cris Judd. She met Judd while filming the music video for her single "Love Don't Cost a Thing". The two were married on September 29, 2001, at a home in a Los Angeles suburb. Their marriage ended in August 2002.

Lopez's subsequent relationship with actor Ben Affleck was highly publicized, with the media dubbing them "Bennifer". Lopez announced her engagement to Affleck in November 2002, after Affleck gave her a six-carat pink diamond ring worth a reported $1.2 million.[30] Lopez promised interviewers that Affleck was indeed "the one", and that they would soon have a family. The marriage, planned for September 14, 2003 in Santa Barbara, California, was called off just hours before the event. During the week before the scheduled nuptials, Affleck had been seen by press carousing at a strip club in Vancouver with friends. The media blitz intensified when it was Lopez's own sister who called in live radio to tell Lopez where her fiancé had been the previous night. Lopez would only respond by saying it was a terrible way to begin the day, finding out about Affleck's behavior in that manner. Publicists announced a permanent split on January 20, 2004. Affleck has refused to speak of his relationship with Lopez, only citing intense media attention as the cause of the break-up. Their relationship was parodied on the South Park episode "Fat Butt and Pancake Head", which aired on April 16, 2003. There was a mild media furor as to whether Lopez would give Affleck back his ring after the break-up. Lopez did return it and it was discreetly placed for sale at the original jewelers. Affleck has since married actress Jennifer Garner on July 1, 2005 and they have a daughter, Violet, born on December 1, 2005.

Shortly after her break-up with Affleck, Lopez was seen out with singer Marc Anthony, a long-time friend she had worked with in music videos. They had briefly dated in the late '90s, before his first marriage and her second one. Lopez and Anthony were recording a duet together in early 2004, for Lopez's then-upcoming film Shall We Dance?. He had separated for the second time, in October 2003, from his first wife, the former Miss Universe, Dayanara Torres, with whom he had two young children. Lopez and Anthony married in a quiet home wedding on June 5, 2004, less than a week after his divorce from Torres was finalized on June 1. On the morning of the wedding, however, the media was tipped off and circled her backyard in helicopters. Photographs, alerting the rest of the world, soon followed. Reports fueled rumors that Lopez was pregnant but this was not the case.

Lopez's guests had been invited to an "afternoon party" at Lopez's house and had not been made aware that they were actually going to her wedding. The couple had planned not to publicize their marriage early on, allowing more privacy and time together in an otherwise intrusive environment. Days after the wedding, Anthony refused to comment on their marriage during interviews which were scheduled earlier to promote a new album "Amar Sin Mentiras" (To Love Without Lies).[31] In February 2005 Lopez confirmed the marriage, and added that "everyone knows. It's not a secret".[32] A few months later, Anthony's daughter, Ariana, appeared at the end of Lopez's music video "Get Right" as her little sister. Regarding his marriage and family life, Anthony maintains a private and sometimes defensive stance with the media, which has influenced Lopez to set some boundaries with interviewers.

Recently, Jennifer Lopez has collaborated on a feature film, El Cantante, with her husband singer-actor Marc Anthony. The film is in English, with a creative use of subtitles for songs with Spanish lyrics.

Pregnancy

According to In Touch Weekly in September of 2007, Jennifer Lopez is pregnant with her first child and is due to give birth in the spring. The publication claims that unnamed insiders say Lopez could have twins, but that it is difficult for the doctor to tell.

On September 19th, 2007 Marc Anthony issued a statement through his publicist that he and Jennifer are not expecting at the moment.

Human rights

On February 14, 2007, Lopez received the Artists for Amnesty International award "in recognition of her work as producer and star of Bordertown, a film exposing the ongoing murders of hundreds of women in the border city of Juárez, Mexico". Nobel Peace Prize winner José Ramos Horta presented the award to Lopez at the Berlin International Film Festival. She also received special recognition and thanks from Norma Andrade, co-founder of Nuestras Hijas de Regreso a Casa A.C. ("May Our Daughters Return Home, Civil Association"), an organization consisting of mothers and families of the murdered women of Juárez.

Lindsay Lohan

For Lindsay Lohan her first ambitions were geared toward modeling and commercial work. While it took awhile to convince casting agents that an auburn haired child could provide the needed elements, she would excel when given the chance.

Today Lindsay is the third most successful woman in film, TV, music, sports and fashion according to Maxim. She has completed several new films including Prairie Home Companion and is said to be working on a third album.

For Lindsay her road to stardom has been both adventurous and somewhat tragic. The road she traveled has been filled with high profile father-daughter issues, asthma, an unsubstantiated feud with Hillary Duff and a few movies and recordings that have been panned by the critics.

It's rare to find such a complete media package in one artist. For Lindsay Lohan it only took twenty years to come from the nursery to recording artist, movie star and model.

Many may remember her best for her breakout role in her pre-teen years in the remake of the classic Disney picture Parent Trap. Her ability to define two separate characters drew immediate raves from critics and assisted in providing a multi project deal with Disney that ultimately led to the remake of another Disney classic Freaky Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis.

As with any star, the media is very interested in finding out both the good, the bad and the ugly about those in the spotlight. There would be plenty of Lohan fodder for the media appetite. The fifth move in the Herbie series saw Lindsay return to the screen in a role that attempted to leave the high school image behind. Co-staring with Michael Keaton as her father and a rather human Volkswagen named Herbie provided international success for the already wildly popular Star.

Lindsay music has resonated with many who cite the blending of pop with a grunge rock sensibility. Her first album, Speak, yielded the single Rumor which won both accolades and fans who may have only known her as an actress. Her second album A Little More Personal (Raw) was panned by critics, but it too would gain solid sales from a growing audience. Her new album (yet untitled) is in production as of this writing, but likely would be released before the end of 2006.

A brief relationship with That 70's Show actor Wilmer Valderrama ultimately resulted in a breakup with only rumor to follow while the media attempted to link her with several other love interests.

Lohan insists she has grown up through the trials she's faced both personally and professionally. It remains a difficult road for the star simply because her connection to a generation of girls who have looked up to her will likely follow her through her career.

The transition from child star to accepted adult actor was elusive for such a prolific star as Shirley Temple, but it seems that Lindsay Lohan may be making the transition in a manner that, while lacking perfection in execution, has been flawless in the relentless pursuit of longevity.

The Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan is leading a troubled life from last one or two years. Now the reports are that there will be a porn movie made on the disturbances faced by the 21 year old. The Mean Girls star has twice been arrested for DUI in this year (07) and has been to rehab the same number of times. This has inspired the X rated movie Lindsay HoHand: Get Out of My F**king Way. The movie will be released in October this year and the lead role will be played by the actress Paulina James, reports TMZ.com.

Does Lindsay fulfill promises?

Perhaps the 21 year old starlet Lindsay Lohan believes that promises are meant to be broken. This is because around 36 hours before her police encounter on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, the Mean Girls star had promised the journalist of Elle magazine that she would quit partying. Lindsay claimed that the prying paparazzi has given her an incentive to quit partying. She said "They're looking for me, to like trip, so they can be like, 'Oh Lindsay's wasted and driving drunk.' And that's not it. "I wouldn't violate... I'm much more responsible than that."

However, soon after these comments Lohan was arrested in a minor car accident and was accused of DUI. It was reported than Lohan was drunk more than the permissible amount.

Lohan’s father worried for her

These days Michael Lohan is a worried father because his daughter Lindsay Lohan is gripped with lot of problems. Michael is concerned for the health of his 21 year old daughter who has twice been to rehab to take the treatment for alcohol addiction.

Lohan was arrested in Los Angeles on 24 July (07) and charged with DUI for the second time in two months and with the possession of cocaine.

Lindsay’s father is too worried and is praying for his daughter to get whatever help she needs. Michael is also ready to step away from his daughter’s life, if that keeps her healthy and fine. He says “If saving Lindsay's life costs me my relationship with her, then so be it. Because I would rather have her alive than dead or destroyed. "Lindsay loves what she does - her craft, her talent, her gift. It that gets taken away, I fear for the worst... She can rebound and set the biggest example in the world... but she's got to do it. "And, in order to do it, she needs the right people in her life."

The troubled star Lindsay Lohan is extremely angry over the hacker who has stolen her nude pictures from her personal computer. In a chat session with the gossip Celebslam.com site on Friday morning, the 21 year old Lohan who is currently undergoing treatment in a rehabilitation center in California, accused the proprietor of stealing the candid snaps taken by her ex-boyfriend Calum Best. The Mean Girls star said "If I ever find out who broke into my computer, he's in big s**t... Someone broke into my computer and left a file on my desktop saying he got the pictures Cal took from me naked (sic)." Lohan informed that her lawyer has begun investigating the case. She added "If I see the (pictures) Cal took from me (sic) on any of you guys website (sic)..."

Lohan no more involved with car crash case

Lindsay Lohan, the troubled 21 year old starlet has got saved from the car crash case. Lindsay had crashed her car in Beverley Hills in 2005. But when the case was heard in the court on Friday i.e. 13 July 07, the motorist of the car whom she had hit, failed to turn up in the court. And so the judge dismissed the case. Lohan is currently in rehab center in California where she is undergoing treatment for alcoholism.

A reformed Lindsay

The Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan has declared that she has reformed herself after her second visit to the Promises rehab center. Lindsay has given up her partying ways and she regularly meditates to not to go back to her old routine of drinking and partying. Lindsay says “"It (rehab) changed my life. I didn't have a good grip on it and I needed to get my s**t together. I was going out too much. "There were therapy classes to talk about relationships. If I get stressed out, I say a serenity prayer and I meditate too."

Lindsay has checked into the Promises rehab in May (07) after she was caught driving under influence and had smashed her car in Beverley Hills, California.

Kim Catrall: Lohan needs help

The Canadian actress Kim Catrall has shown sympathy for the troubled young starlet Lindsay Lohan. The 50 year old Kim has urged the parents of the 20 year old Lohan to take better care of her. The primary reason behind Kim’s concern is Lohan’s second visit to the rehab in the same year. The Mean Girls star is currently staying at the Promises in Malibu, California.

Catrall, the former Sex and the City actress finds herself fortunate enough as she was not in limelight the time she made her foray into acting in late 1970s. Catrall tells the British radio station Heart FM that "It's a really tough time growing up, period. When you're young you're trying to find out who you are, you don't know who you are. "I think it must be a very confusing and scary place so that's why drugs and alcohol seem like a safe haven because you can kind of let it all go for a period of time but you have to grow up so quickly in this industry. Sometimes it's too much too soon. "I feel for people like Lindsay Lohan it's a real cry for help when you're when they using substances to alter your being just so you can get some kind of peace.” She added “I would like to say to them, 'Where are your mothers? Where are your mentors? Where are these people who care for you?' That's what they need not people in the newspapers criticising you… you need love and understanding."

Lindsay’s was completely inebriated at the time of crash

The 20 year old Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan is reported to have consumed cocaine and nearly double the permitted amount of alcohol the time she was arrested for crashing her car last month i.e. in May, 07.

Known for her drinking habit, the American actress Lohan was accused of driving under influence when she smashed her car in Beverley Hills, California. And soon after the incident she checked in the rehab at the Malibu for the second time this year. TMZ.com reports that Lohan was heavily intoxicated on both cocaine and alcohol at the time of the accident. Currently the Beverley Hills cops are sending the reports of Lohan’s case to the Los Angeles Distrcit Attorney’s Office for further decision.

Lohan will stay more in rehab

The young and troubled star Lindsay Lohan has plans to stay in the rehab for more time. Te 20 year old actress has deiced to stay in the Malibu’s Promises rehab center (where she is currently living) till the time she fully recovers.

According to a source, the New York Post newspaper reads that "She is staying in Promises for longer than a month. We don't know how much longer because of her work schedule, but she is taking rehab very seriously this time and not messing around."

Initially it was thought that like toher Lindsay too would leave the rehab in a month because the ‘Promises’ normally allows people to stay for a month. However, the ‘Mean Girls’ actress first canceled her upcoming birthday party bash scheduled for 2nd July and then declared to stay for more time in the rehab.

Kate Turner, the representative of the night club PURE in Las Vegas, where Lindsay had planned her birthday bash, said that "Due to the unique circumstances Lindsay's birthday party at PURE Nightclub has been cancelled. We think the world of her and look forward to working with her in the future."

Lindsay is in rehab for the second time now. She was arrested for driving under influence last month. The police also found some “usable amount” of cocaine in Lindsay’s car.

Michael feels that there should have been no such celebration planned. A worried father Michael says that “When a kid wants to straighten out her life, like Lindsay did, why have a party in Las Vegas with liquor company sponsoring the party. I mean, coming out of rehab, what sort of insanity that was.”

The 20 year old Lindsay is kept in lock and key at the Promises rehab center in Malibu, California. She went there after she was caught for driving under influence in a car crash at Beverly Hills, California.

Lindsay Lohan’s bodyguard lied

The 20 year old troubled star Lindsay Lohan has claimed that her former bodyguard Lee Weaver is ‘delusional’ about things. According to Lindsay, Weaver has worked only for 10 days with her and he is making false claims that he has worked for whole 2 years for her.

Weaver had claimed that he had worked for Lohan for two years but when the Mean Girl star’s behavior turned too wild to handle, he quit the job. Weaver also said that he would reveal many things about Lindsay’s partying lifestyle and drug abuse.

But Lindsay holds that Weaver has not worked for more than 10 days for her. Weaver joined during 2006 when he was just “filling in as a favor” for Lohan’s usual team of bodyguards. Weaver got $3,500 for the 10 days job. Lohan’s representative told the TMZ.com that "It's deeply unfortunate that this person has deluded himself to thinking that he worked for Lindsay for a long period of time. This is a cynical and ugly attempt on his part to cash in on Lindsay's fame."

Gossips came out that a rumored venue sponsor, Pure Nightclub, will pull out. But according to her lawyer from New York, Mike Heller, "That is not accurate. There is a birthday party scheduled that she is contracted to do at Pure. It's scheduled for July 2. That hasn't changed. Nothing has been canceled as of now."

Sexy Lindsay is also of the same circle with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Looks like the “friends” are charged and arrested of the same crime. Maybe it is hip and sexy to drink and drive? Also Lohan is totally off with cocaine-sniffing junk Calum Best. All his calls to Lindsay were left unreturned.

Lindsay pulls a knife on Vanessa Minillo

Lindsay seemed dead at the rehab

The paper Star reports that the piteous state of the young and ravishing Lindsay Lohan at the rehab. It is said that Lindsay arrived at the rehab on May 28 and was in a bad shape. Lindsay’s condition was so bad that the staff members of the rehab prepared themselves for the worst.

A Star source said “She looked dead” and “she looked like a stray dog the pound had just taken in.”

According to insiders Lindsay’s first four days were spent in the detox, riding her body of alcohol, cocaine, Percocet, Vicodin and other medicines.

The source says “she said she felt bad-really bad”. But she has gone through rehab before and she said she’d be OK if she were left alone to lie down in a dark room. She apparently was a veteran who knew the drill and was ‘used to doing it her own way.’

The source adds that Lindsay got the “sweats” during the detox process. And there was no way in which she would have escaped the sweat.

It is said that since the detox Lindsay is drinking lots of coffee, sweetened with about 25 packs of Splenda. A source told Star that “It is typical for someone coming off cocaine, even alcohol, to load up on sweets. I have heard this can happen with almost any patient. Sugar gives you a high.”

Lindsay’s sleeping pills

Lindsay Lohan is back in the rehab and she is reported doing fine there. The only thing Lindsay is not finding there are her drugs. But she is trying her best to overcome her habit of drugs though she is not able to. A Star Source says that “even though cell phones and Blackberrys are not allowed in $1600 per day in the Malibu facility, yet Lindsay has managed to get a Blackberry and has been pleading with friends to bring her just what she doesn’t need- sleeping pills.”

A close friend of Lindsay says that “she is in rehab because of her addiction to drugs- everything from cocaine to OxyContin and Ambien- but she is complaining that she cannot sleep.” The friend added “She’s been texting friends 24/7, begging for pills.”

It is also heard that Lindsay has hired a sobriety coach to be with her around the clock. The coach’s fee is $2000 a day.”

Lindsay checks into rehab

Lindsay Lohan will not be attending the music channel’s Movie Awards, the news has been confirmed by the publicist. The reason behind this is that Lindsay has checked into rehab earlier this week and she would be the one of the several celebrity presenters scheduled for the show which is being broadcast live from the Universal City.

It's Lohan’s turn now

After the much talked about arrest of the heiress of the Hilton group of hotels, Paris Hilton, it is the turn of the beautiful actress Lindsay Lohan. The news is that Lohan, who had a stint in the rehab earlier this year, was found driving under the influence in Los Angeles and she lost control over her convertible Mercedes on the Saturday early morning. According to the Beverley Hills Police Department and an eye witness, around 5:30 am Lohan made a single car traffic accident in which she received minor injuries. Lohan was admitted in the nearby hospital for the treatment and was cited there.

According to Sgt. Mike Foxen, Lohan was not taken in custody and there is no information about Lohan being in or out of the hospital now. Foxen said that Lohan was given a citation and court date about which he did not know.

The actress was reported to be arrested first by the by the photo agency X17 Inc. The X17 photographer Perry Farinola who is also a witness to the incident said “I quickly got out of my car and said ‘Lindsay are you ok? And she did not really respond, she was moving fast. She looked good coming out of the club and the party that I saw her at.”

Lohan praised by her beau

Lindsay Lohan’s new boyfriend, the British model Calum Best thinks that she is a fantastic babe. For the first time the handsome hunk spoke to the media about his girlfriend and had nothing else but a mouthful of praises for her.

Lindsay Lohan has been sued by a photographer who says that she drove into him as he was about to take her picture. The freelance photographer Giovanni Arnold claims that he “suffered sustained severe and permanent personal injuries”, reports the inthenews.co.uk. Lohan was driving her BMW car and hit Giovanni with that. The incident occurred in New York’s West Village area on March 13.

Giovanni has filed the lawsuit in the court of Bronx. In the legal complaint papers he has said that he is still taking medical treatment after sustaining injuries on both knees and wants a compensation for his injuries and loss of income following the accident. According to Giovanni’s lawyer, Marc Mausser, Giovaani was standing in front of Lohan’s car to take her picture but in seconds that one of the sexiest actresses of Hollywood drove him throwing him onto the vehicle’s hood.

The script of the movie is written by Keira’s mother Sharman Macdoanld. In the movie, the Mean Girls Star plays the character of Catalin, the wife of a late legendary Wesh poet named Dylan Thomas. According to sources, Lindsay is completely abhors her father. Lindsay’s father will soon be out of Prison

The father of one of the most renowned glamour girls, Lindsay Lohan, will soon be released from the prison. Michael Lindsay Lohan will be set out of the prison on 13th March 2007. He was behind the bars from last two years at the Collins Correctional Center near Buffalo, New York. He was arrested on the charges of a serious car accident he did when he was fully inebriated. Michael was then sentenced two years of prison.

As of now, Michael is a changed man. According to Brett Hudson, (the only person who remained in contact with Michael), Michael is a different person in today’s date. Brett says “I have spoken to him often ans I know it. The last time around, Michael would never admit he had done anything wrong. Now he not only admits his past mistakes but he wants to right the wrongs he has done. And most of all, he wants to get his family back on the track.”

As Lindsay Lohan’s mother plan to throw a gala party on the comeback of her hubby, Michael, Brett adds that “Michael has even gone as far as to become a minister (while behind the bars) to show that he is a changed man. He is actually going to straight into the ministry when he gets out- the Teen Challenge Ministry to help the runaways and kids on drugs- trying to straighten out their lives”.
