Mandira Bedi

The sweet and charming `Shanti` girl, Mandira Bedi has come a long way in her life to prove herself not only a great actress but also a great human being. This extremely gifted actress was born on 15th April 1972 and brought up in the tinsel town. She completed her education from Cathedral and John Connnon School in Mumbai. She is married to an Indian movie director Raj Kaushal in the year 1999 on the Valentine`s Day.

Presently she is living in Mumbai. She catapulted to fame with the much talked about cricket show `Extra Innings`. The cute lady with `next-door` girl looks in the Bollywood chartbuster `Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge`, where she was shown to be head over heels in love with Shah Rukh Khan has taken everything in life with a spontaneous spirit and bold determination. She acted in television with equal ease as in films. She was also seen in the most popular Balaji daily `Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi` in the character portrayal of Mihir`s obsessive lover and Karan`s mother Mandira. But she had to walk out of the show because of other commitments.

Mandira Bedi claims that the television gave her exactly what she wanted in life. But the Max cricket offer made her the talk of the town. As she was always in love with cricket she grabbed the offer with both hands. When she was attending a press conference for the `Papa Ban Gaye Hero` show she was called in by the Max channel for the audition. She went for it and soon after she was selected. Mandira Bedi is also very superstitious and had her cards read by Maa Prem Ritambhara who predicted that the World Cup would give her a big breakthrough. The rest is an obvious history. The tournament has opened doors for her and film offers are coming in heaps. She also anchored the show musical talent hunt show `Fame Gurukul` in the year 2005. It has been almost six years now that she is anchoring Sony Television`s cricket based pre-match show `Extra Innings`. Thought she has offended the connoisseurs to an extreme extent she has been successful in attracting female audiences towards the game. Not only that the show has also broadened her horizon, changed her outlook towards life and also brought a new dimension in her body language.

She also claims that she has enjoyed commentary of Tony Greig the most as he was not only knowledgeable as well as humorous.. She also asserts the fact that she will never leave television because this medium is solely responsible for what she is right now. Recently she is also one of the jury members of ESPN-Star`s `Dream Job`. She claims that it has been a great experience so far and is also happy about the fact that there had been atleast ten women contestants in each city of Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Her sincere fan following expects that she will go a long way in the coming times with her vivid persona and performance oriented roles in the multiple mediums which she has chosen to display her skills.
