Having been dancing and singing since a toddler, Ashley Benson tried her hand in acting and got her first acting job in a Dominos Pizza commercial. After working in a string of commercials and guest starring in such TV series as "Nikki," "The District," "The West Wing" and "Strong Medicine," she landed her most popular role to date, as Abby Deveraux (2004-2007), the oldest child of super-couple Jack Deveraux and Jennifer Horton (played by Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves), on the hit soap “Days of Our Lives.”

Meanwhile, the young star could be seen alongside Jennifer Garner in the comedy movie "13 Going on 30" (2004), as well as in the TV series "Zoey 101," "7th Heaven" and "The O.C." She will next be seen in "Bring It On: In It to Win It," the fourth film in the "Bring It On" franchise which is due out sometime 2008 on DVD.

In Long Beach, California, Ashley Victoria Benson, nicknamed “Ash,” was born on December 18, 1989. She is home schooled, and when working at “Days of Our Lives” (1965) she is schooled on the set.

Ashley has a pet Shih-Tzu named Chloe. Her favorite actors include Robin Williams, Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Denzel Washington, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellwegger. She is involved with the charitable organization “Kids with a Cause.”

Career:

Since she was 2, Ashley Benson has been dancing with hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap etc. She has been singing since she was about 5 and has hoped to pursue that along with acting.

Ashley got her first acting job in a Dominos Pizza commercial. She subsequently landed more jobs for various commercials and has done a photo shoot for Vogue Magazine with now-fallen pop star Britney Spears.

At age 13, Ashley landed her first professional acting job with a guest spot as a dancer in a 2002 episode of the WB short-lived sitcom "Nikki." She followed it up with guest appearances on CBS cop-drama "The District" and NBC political drama "The West Wing." She also had a cameo in Lil Romeo and Solange's music video for the 2002 song “True Love.”

Two years later, in 2004, Ashley made her big screen debut with a bit part as Six Chick in Gary Winick's comedy movie starring Jennifer Garner, "13 Going on 30." Meanwhile, she could be seen in a July 2004 episode of Lifetime's medical drama "Strong Medicine."

2004 also marked a breakout year for Ashley. That year, she snagged her most prominent role to date on NBC/SOAPnet long-running soap opera "Days of Our Lives." In the critically acclaimed show, she portrayed Abby Deveraux, the oldest child of supercouple Jack Deveraux and Jennifer Horton (played by Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves). She initially appeared as a recurring character on the show for a few months, but was upgraded to contract status in the summer of 2005. For each episode of the show, Ashley reportedly was paid $6,000.

During her "Days of Our Lives" stint, Ashley starred in Rich Owens' short dark comedy film "Neighbors" and was spotted as a guest on Nickelodeon's live-action sitcom "Zoey 101," the WB family drama "7th Heaven," and Fox teen drama "The O.C." She also appeared in a commercial for Midas Mufflers and in a music video “That Girl” for a new Pop/R&B boy group from Texas and Los Angeles called “NLT” (Not Like Them).

When Ashley's contract with "Days of Our Lives" ended in 2007, she went to film "Bring It On: In It to Win It," the fourth film in the "Bring It On" franchise in which she plays the lead role of Carson, a cheer squad for the West Coast Sharks. The film, also starring Jessica Ritchie and Jennifer Tisdale, is due out sometime 2008 on DVD.
